Clinical Assistant Professional - West Campus

The W. P. Carey School of Business is seeking an individual with expertise in a technical and academic environment to support the ongoing growth and development of the School of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (TIE) at ASU’s West campus. This clinical assistant professional position will work closely with the Director of TIE to grow the new school through increased enrollment into its programs and also work to establish the Center for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (CSMB) as the primary resource for strategic and innovative development and growth for local businesses. This position will actively engage with students, faculty, and local businesses and support them to work together through innovative problem solving and data-driven business strategy recommendations.  This position is an academic professional, year-to-year, 100% FTE apponitment.   

Essential Duties:
•    Assists TIE director in growing school and CSMB by anticipating requirements, areas for improvement, developing solutions, managing budgets, providing insights & academic support.
•    Enhances symbiotic, strategic partnerships between academia, SMB industry, and government.
•    Develops sustainable funding models, secures grants & sponsorships, creates fellowship opportunities, builds robust infrastructure to support operations, innovation, growth of center.
•    Analyzes SMB landscape and elicits their requirements through market research, case studies, problem-solving sessions, site visits, trainings, workflow analyses, and translates them into opportunities for center and students to engage with them.
•    Documents and tracks outcomes of center engagements with SMBs, and student learning outcome, supporting data standardization, and scaling as needed.
•    Enhances academic coursework by incorporating SMB engagement, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
•    Defines project scope, timelines, resources; documents & standardizes processes to improve professional practices. Monitors progress, adjusts expectations, maintains status reports, & reports actionable insights to leadership & stakeholders.
•    Creates pathways for small and medium businesses to actively hire from ASU talent.
•    Establishes presence and visibility for TIE & center at West via events, marketing campaigns.
•    Facilitates WPC101, mentors students to develop entrepreneurial activities at WV Campus.
•    Evolves and manages student worker teams through operational and strategic tasks, intentionally developing interest and talent for school, center, & SMB industry.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
•    Evidence of a Master's degree in Business Analytics or related field
•    3 years experience with data analysis
•    Experience in a higher education institution
•    Experience consulting and working with businesses

Desired Qualifications:
•    Experience with research projects and market analysis
•    Experience managing multiple stakeholders and developing strategies for complex projects.
•    Experience working with and driving growth and scale in small or medium-sized businesses.
•    Demonstrated knowledge of organizational development and practices to identify opportunities for change and improvement, and convey the need for them.
