Summary

The Senior Digital Press Operator sets-up and operates full range of digital presses and related equipment to produce complex, full color printed materials. Performs routine maintenance and adjustments on digital printing equipment using software programs. Calibrates multiple variables in the printing press set-up such as dimension, color or contrast. Coordinates numerous printing projects occurring at the same time on multiple machines; creates schedules to reflect the various deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma/GED. Five (5) years of printing experience on a digital printing press.

  • Strong computer skills around Adobe product, Creative Suite 6 and MicroSoft Office.
  • Experience with jpg, eps, pdf, cmyk, rgb, and other image formats.
  • Able to operate related digital bindery equipment including cutting, folding, scoring, etc.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance and adjustments on bindery and digital printing equipment.
  • Ability to transport materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Able to work nights and overtime.

Nuclear requirement:

Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
These are conditions of employment at PVNGS.

Major Accountabilities

1) Operates digital printing equipment to minimize product costs. Plans assigned jobs to maximize production. Produces high quality work that meets client specifications and within required time frames.

2) Rips (reformat, edit and copy) files produced from data files using digital print equipment.

3) Reviews color and makes adjustments as needed.

4) Troubleshoots problems during the printing process and makes corrections as necessary.

5) Performs routine equipment maintenance.

6) Performs basic bindery operations including cutting, folding, scoring, etc.
