About this opportunity:

This position is part of the Global Legal Team and supports the Polish business. The primary focus of the role will be to provide legal advice, guidance and support to the Polish business, including the following areas:  regulatory, competition law, affiliate distribution, advertising sales, commercial contracts, television production and news. Litigation, data privacy, ethics and compliance, and employment are handled centrally, but will have a dotted line into the Head of Legal, Poland.   

A qualified Attorney at Law, you must possess superior judgment, oral and written communication skills, substantive expertise in media law, management & leadership skills and be able to work collaboratively with senior leaders, clients and other attorneys in a team environment. You must be able to manage and support multiple senior stakeholders effectively, in a heavily matrixed organizational environment and be able to partner and collaborate effectively with the President and Managing Director of Poland and CEO of TVN. 

You may sit on the Leadership Team and participate in Leadership Team meetings, decision-making and leadership activities.  You must have the ability to oversee, manage, lead and develop the legal team based in Poland whilst operating with the utmost integrity.

The Head of Legal Poland will be responsible for:

• Provide legal advice, guidance and partnership regarding Polish legal issue

• Oversee, manage and lead Polish legal team in various substantive areas, including regulatory, affiliate distribution, advertising sales, commercial contracts, television production and news

• Nurture and develop the Polish legal team

• Partner and collaborate with the President and Managing Director of Poland and CEO of TVN

• Collaborate with other legal team members regarding litigation, data privacy, ethics and compliance and employment law

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all business clients, senior leaders, legal team members external to Poland, and other personnel

• Manage outside counsel relationships

• Remain current on developments in the industry and the regulatory environment

About You:

• Must be a qualified Attorney at Law

• Ability to manage a high-volume workload efficiently and smoothly in a high-pressure, high-profile environment

• Strong work ethic combined with a cooperative and collaborative team-oriented attitude

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish productive relationships externally and internally at all levels in the organization

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including in English

• Ability to navigate a matrixed organizational environment

• Ability to exercise good judgment, objectivity and a strong commitment to ethics and compliance
