About the role

Responsible for operating high lift trucks to transport and load catering supplies, cargo, and other materials to and from aircraft. This position requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and adherence to airport and company protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have reliable telephone and transportation.
  •  Must have valid driver's license.

PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Treat all information as confidential.
  • Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees and the public.
  • Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English.
  • Ability to communicate in English clearly and concisely verbally and in written form.
  • Must be detail-oriented and perform with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to handle multiple situations simultaneously.
  • Must have excellent radio/telephone skills.
  • Must be able to lift, stoop, squat, push, stand and/or bend throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to do repeated heavy lifting (up to 70 lbs.) for extended periods of time on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout shift.
  • Must be willing and able to work in a variety of climatic conditions to include extreme heat and cold (over 100 to below 0), including high winds, rain, ice and snow.
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background check.
  • Must be willing and able to cope with a variety of non-routine situations to include, but not limited to, early/late flights, weather and mechanical delays, passenger assistance including accommodation/re-accommodation.
  • Must be a citizen of the United States or possess the necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).
  • Must have clear driving record.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Safely operate high lift trucks to load and unload catering supplies, cargo, and other materials to and from aircraft
  • Adhere to all airport safety regulations and company policies
  • Actively participate in the company's Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Ensure proper placement and securement of loads to prevent damage during transport
  • Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately
  • Actively participate in the company's Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Communicate effectively with ground operations staff, catering personnel, and flight crews to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
  • Coordinate with other team members to optimize workflow and minimize delays
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including quantities, destinations, and any discrepancies
  • Complete required documentation for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to all airport personnel and flight crews.
  • Address any concerns or issues promptly and escalate to the supervisor when necessary.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
