Role description:
You will join our Structural Engineering team in the Arcadis Iasi office, part of the Mobility GBA, where our projects and development opportunities can fit various ambitions from structural engineering, 3D modeling and parametric design to Operate & Maintain digital methods. The delivery is secured through global collaboration platforms like ACC, which allows engineers across various offices to work together seamlessly while maintaining clear visibility for our clients.
Role accountabilities:
- Performing calculations, analysis and providing recommendations and conclusions;
- Providing technical advice to project team members;
- Reviewing and ensuring compliance in the components of the project for which you have responsibility, including drawings, reports, specifications and studies;
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with partners on projects;
- Use engineering knowledge, experience and understanding to apply technical and practical engineering coordination skills for typically larger and more complex commissions
- Responsible for model delivery, reviewing and coordinating and ensuring that company and project standards are maintained on all engineering deliverables.
- Have an understanding of the coordination of multiple elements of a project and how it ultimately interfaces with the client
- Resolve complex Engineering issues
- Check and verify that quality requirements have been achieved in accordance with Arcadis systems
- Make proposals for any design adjustments to be made, and discuss and consult with the relevant members of the team
- Identify problems and apply appropriate methods to identify causes and achieve satisfactory solutions
- Liaising with the Line Manager to keep informed of all developments associated with the project;
- Maintaining a good understanding of the background of the Arcadis business areas to facilitate building effective and enduring relationships and consolidating both company and personal credibility in the industry;
- Keep up to date with developments in the industry sector and with technical and legislative developments and seek out opportunities to develop a strong professional profile
- Deliver close compliance with Arcadis Integrated Management System requirements to support delivery of design and engineering projects
- Review and select appropriate techniques, procedures and methods to undertake tasks
- Have advanced proficiency with relevant desktop applications and their application to support engineering tasks
- Have excellent time management skills consistently demonstrated through performance on projects
- Able to provide input to estimates for the engineering budget and schedule and to oversee technical resources to meet requirements on large, straightforward projects
- Providing direction to the project team, leading by example to achieve goals and championing a quality, innovative, client-focused culture.
- Undertake engineering work in a way that contributes to sustainable development. This could include an ability to operate and act responsibly, taking account of the need to progress environmental, social and economic outcomes simultaneously
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant Structural engineering degree
- Demonstrate an analytical mindset and a proactive attitude toward self-directed learning and professional development
- Experienced in reinforced concrete, reinforced and prestressed, steel and/or composite structural calculations and/or competent in plans detailing/bill of quantities
- Experienced and competent in finite element analysis and application
- Ability and interest in learning and developing new technologies and automation processes
- Analytical mindset and self-learning attitude
- Have a track record in designing specialized structural elements such as bridge decks, abutments, piles, or retaining walls
- Proficient in detailing software for reinforced concrete
- Ability to guide and check the work of other team members
- Display exceptional command of technical English terminology and communication skills.
