Overview:

The Virginia Beach Ambulatory Surgery Center (VBASC) serves as the main outpatient surgery program for Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital surgeons and is a Sentara affiliate. VBASC is a joint venture with Virginia Beach physicians and Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, as a proprietary partnership governed by a 12-member board of directors and licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an outpatient surgical hospital.

VBASC operates managerially and financially independent of Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital and works in collaboration with the hospital's overall surgery program as an integral part of the continuum of care. 

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, is a 273-bed  Primary Stroke Center, and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence. Our hospital specializes in heart, vascular, neuroscience, neurosurgery, orthopedics and spine care, cancer care, advanced imaging, and behavioral health.
