Summer Conference Specialist - HRE (On-Campus)

As an employee of Housing & Residential Education (H&RE), Summer Conference Specialists (SCS) engage with summer guests participating in camps and conferences and Interns on USF’s Tampa campus. The SCS position is a ‘live in’ position that requires all SCS to live in an assigned on-campus apartment, paid for by the department. SCSs provide exceptional customer service as they assist with group logistics that includes check-ins and check-outs, linen delivery, and crisis response. SCSs will support the safety and security of our guests through accurate management of keys and card access. In addition, SCSs will create a positive residential experience for USF guests.
SCS will work between 25-35 hours per week. During certain times of the summer, SCS may work up to 40 hours per week. Compensation for the SCS position will include both hourly pay (on-call shifts excluded), housing accommodations during your employment as a SCS and a summer meal plan.
SCS Duties
- SCS will be supervised by the Guest Housing Coordinator.
- Inspect residential units prior to and after each camp/conference to ensure the room is ready for occupancy and/or all damages or cleanliness concerns are addressed and documented.
- Deliver linens to each room if conference requests them and remove them after a camp/conference departs.
- Assist in the management of keys for all conferences including check ins/outs and setup and breakdown conference check-in/check-out tables and chairs.
- Check in/out all conferences. This includes but is not limited to assigning rooms, giving out keys, managing card access and responding to questions and/or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform on-call duties (12-hour shift at a time) for conference guests by carrying a cell phone/iPad and responding to emergencies, questions and concerns. When on-call, SCS is to remain within a restricted radius at all times. In addition, after the JPH desk is closed, respond to desk related questions.
- Work desk shifts the JPH-HAM Service Desks.
- Setup and breakdown meeting spaces used by conferences.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled USF student.

Preferred Qualifications:
- On-campus living experience at the USF-Tampa campus.
- Must be a USF student in good academic standing (minimum 2.5 GPA).
- Have the ability to problem solve, manage conflict, and remain flexible under pressure.
- Must attend all scheduled trainings/meetings.
- Be able to lift 50-100 pounds.
- Pass a level 1 background check.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
