As a Senior Project Engineer, you will support electronic control system product development and sustainment activities within the Digital Controls organization. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership with both electronic systems and electrical design activities for development of aerospace electronic control systems. This role requires an understanding of product and process experience with analog & digital circuit design and analysis, as well as hardware / software integration.

In this position, you will support engineering activities that further the success of overall project goals. You will gather data and prepare, analyze, maintain and present plans and progress reports to monitor project progress. Additionally, you will escalate as needed and complete project tasks.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare and maintain project plans, budgets, and staffing requirements to ensure that all action item lists are completed and project quality expectations are met.

  • Estimate costs, resources, and time required to complete projects to ensure business targets are met.

  • Gather and analyze data to monitor projects' progress in terms of cost, schedule and technical specifications to facilitate operations and ensure that established goals and budgets are achieved.

  • Identify and escalate project problems and supports resolutions to ensure the successful completion of projects.

  • Manage project assignments with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project goals.

  • Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion.

  • Liaise between project management and planning, project teams, and line management.

  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.

  • Review project and budget status, manages schedules and prepares reports.

  • Monitor and assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and goals.

  • Represent RTX as the primary customer contact for projects.

  • Direct the work of employees assigned on projects in technical manufacturing and administrative areas.

  • Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.

  • Meet program schedules and budgets and maintains the integrated master schedules for project(s).

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Project management experience within the aerospace industry is preferred.

  • Background or experience in electronics and/or digital controls.

  • Working experience navigating competing priorities and working multiple schedules in parallel.

  • Life Cycle Management and/or Agile methodologies experience.

  • EVMS experience, including earned value and performance management preferred.
