Job Description

CEC Entertainment, the global leader in family entertainment and operator of Chuck E. Cheese and Peter Piper restaurants, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team.  This position is based at our Corporate Support Center in Irving, TX

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

· Perform all duties and responsibilities with a friendly sense of urgency in support of our corporate objectives, including: "If you are not serving the Guest, serve someone who is."

· Review and research restaurant financial reports through controllable profit for consistency and reasonability. Determine and make correcting entries and follow-up with Manager.

· Provide feedback and follow-up with field operations on numerous accounting issues and questions.

· Aid support center departments regarding field operational accounting issues.

· Special projects as needed for Manager.

· Perform polling related functions as needed to correct, post, and summarize daily revenues for our company locations.

· Review store inventories for accuracy and completeness. Research and adjust as necessary.

· Assist in the research and reconcile departments balance sheet accounts to include but not limited to our Asset inventory for Games, Refurb Parts, Parts, and Merchandise.

· Analyze Cost of Sales and communicate with store operations, management, and other appropriate departments on issues. Resolve problems and adjust as necessary.

· Assist with the timely answering of P&L questions submitted by store operations through e-mail and over the phone. Explain charges to various expense accounts and record journal entries to correct errors if necessary.

· Assist in development and deployment of best practices communications and research initiatives for continuous process improvements.

· Prepare and review income statements and financial analyses for purposes of accumulation of operational results knowledge, identification of anomalies, and correction of errors.

· Review transactional information for assigned areas and prepare summarized reporting for snapshot reviews.

  Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

· CPA preferred

· 1+ year experience in Accounting preferred

· Available to travel to warehouses for inventory observations – (quarterly)

Required Skills:

· Proficient in MS Office and Outlook

· Strong data entry and 10 key by touch

· Proven ability to critically evaluate key processes and internal controls and implement improvements

· Relentless focus on customer satisfaction to support internal staff

· Must be a detail-oriented self-starter who can work independently

· Strong organizational skills to manage projects from concept to finish

· Strong interpersonal/collaboration skills; ability to interface with all levels within the organization and external partners

· Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills and presentation skills
