Position Title: Guided Wave Level II Technician
Location: McPherson, Kansas (Embedded Position)
Relocation & Incentives: Relocation assistance, sign-on bonus, plus 90 days per diem

Position Overview:
XCEL is seeking a skilled Guided Wave Level II Technician to join our team in an embedded role based in McPherson, Kansas. This position is responsible for performing advanced guided wave inspections, interpreting data, and delivering accurate results in accordance with industry codes and client specifications. The successful candidate will work closely with our client’s on-site team to ensure timely, high-quality inspection services while adhering to all safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform guided wave testing in accordance with Level II certification requirements.

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate guided wave inspection equipment.

  • Interpret and evaluate test results according to applicable codes, standards, and procedures.

  • Document inspection results and prepare clear, detailed reports.

  • Communicate findings to clients and project managers.

  • Maintain equipment in proper working condition and troubleshoot as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies at all times.

  • Work effectively in a client-embedded environment and maintain professional relationships.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Guided Wave Level II certification (per ASNT or equivalent standards).

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in guided wave testing.

  • Proficiency in interpreting guided wave data and identifying potential issues.

  • Strong working knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and specifications.

  • Ability to work independently in a client-facing role.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.

Preferred:

  • Additional NDT certifications (UT, MT, PT, RT, or others).

  • Previous embedded project experience.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
