Job Description:
Provides supplemental staffing for various outdoor education and retreat activities when necessary, including but not limited to zip line, high ropes, teambuilding, and archery. Activity specialists are expected to provide a fun and safe environment for all clients. Develops and promotes good community relations among various district and community clientele.
Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Responsibilities:
Communicate and establish a rapport with guests; be personable.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Guide activity groups of up to 15-16 clients in an outdoor class setting. Deliver specific programming including, but not limited to zip line, high ropes, teambuilding, and archery. Oversee instruction and communicate effectively with supervisor any safety or other issues that may arise within the group.
Properly care for equipment and supplies; set-up and take-down of classrooms and leave areas of teaching in good condition for other staff.
Properly care for all ropes course equipment including counting the number of climbers and always communicating any issues to the Director in a timely manner. Responsible for set up and take down of elements as assigned.
Anticipate potential safety hazards and health needs. Able to respond to emergencies in a calm manner and follow proper facility procedures during and after an incident. Provide basic first aid as trained to do so.
Lead games and various activities as well as make general announcements to a large group.
Attend and participate in technical staff trainings and meetings including Staff Orientation.
Communicate effectively with Director reporting any questions, problems and or concerns with program, staff housing, etc.
Ensure a high level of customer service for all clients.
Certifications:
ACCT Level 1 Certification - Association for Challenge Course Technology, CPR & First Aid Certification - American Heart Association
