The Data Technology organization is unlocking new opportunities across the business by integrating data and machine learning across our products and business functions. We’re looking for an energetic Director, reporting directly to the VP of Data Technology, to be primarily responsible for leading Data Engineering, Machine Learning (ML) Engineering, and Machine Learning Platform.  The Data Engineering Team designs, builds and supports data platforms, products, pipelines, governance frameworks that powers analytics engineering, business insights, data science and machine learning. Through Machine Learning Eng and Platform, we enable automation at scale that helps reduce risk, improves speed and eliminates manual processes across our business. 

What You'll Do:

As a Director, you own the technical build of the Data & ML platforms across ezCater. In that leadership capacity, you are responsible for staffing, goal setting / assessment, developing your managers and engineers, organizational culture, and execution on strategic initiatives. Beyond people management responsibilities, you are a thought leader within these technical domains and collaborate with partners, such as business stakeholders, analytics engineering, analytics and product, to set strategic vision. You will oversee the design and implement technical solutions, and mentor junior engineers. You are a subject matter expert on both the relevant data & ML domains and the associated technical components of these platforms. You are able to tailor your communications to your audience whether collaborating with business partners or participating with architects in a design review. In addition to your strategic capabilities, you are relied on to respond to tactical issues by being the technical backstop for your teams, guiding the teams and leveraging your extended network of relationships across the company to drive resolutions. Our ideal candidate will have proven, hands-on experience leading a team of data engineers & ML engineers, building out a team with mature processes and operations, and working with the business to create a well-defined vision and roadmap.
