The Economic Development Services (EDS) team is looking for a highly motivated individual who will play a pivotal role in shaping Peoria's future by attracting businesses, creating quality jobs, and recruiting important amenities. The Economic Development Project Manager will manage, plan, organize, monitor, review and evaluate economic development projects and programs related to implementing economic development opportunities from inception to completion to impact the quality of life for residents and serve a vibrant community. The City of Peoria is at the forefront of innovative economic development strategies, and this team member will be involved in groundbreaking, transformative projects.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Knowledge of and experience working with healthcare and biotech companies
  • Good marketing communications and sales background
  • CRM and project management experience
  • Good analytical skills to understand numbers and budgets
  • Strong writing and speaking skills to prepare proposals and presentations
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain records, plan meetings, and report out on progress
  • Review documents such as agreements and proposals as well as financial and marketing studies.

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, economic development, real estate development, business administration, project management, or related field is required. Equivalency: Equivalent years of experience are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience for every one (1) year of education required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in economic development, marketing, project management, and managing medium to high profile projects of medium to high complexity.
