The Facilities Management department is looking for a knowledgeable individual with demonstrated public sector experience in a Senior Maintenance Project Inspector role. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of infrastructure and facilities within the Airport Authority.
- Collaborating with other departments or agencies, contractors, and engineering teams to plan and execute maintenance projects. Acts ass the liaison between the Authority and contractors on all maintenance and repair projects for the runways, aprons, facilities, landscape and related infrastructure; coordinates projects with contractors, internal stakeholders, tenants and others; monitors and inspects the department’s projects to ensure compliance with contract terms, plans, codes, specifications and standards.
- Inspects and ensures the compliance of services provided by contractor with safety, security procedures and requirements; maintains projects lifecycle documentation and prepares reports; charts progress of contract schedules; reviews and approves project change order requests; makes field adjustments for work in progress; records and documents work changes.
- Collaborates and reviews projects, develops scope of work; generates bid, RFPs and project cost estimates; participates in the selection of contractors; coordinates contract execution for projects; issues letters to proceed; closes out projects and authorizes contractor payments; assesses facilities to identify needed maintenance and repairs.
- Operates a variety of specialized equipment, including computers and engineering software, engineering scale drafting, AutoCAD hardware and software, and others while staying update on the latest technologies and tools used for maintenance and inspector; operates vehicles to travel to various Authority sites.
- Participates in opportunities to develop or streamline programs, practices, documents, reports, data, budgets and infrastructure; generates cost data; advances currency with industry and regulatory trends; responsibilities require flexibility to work rotating and shifts including weekends, holidays and night shifts; performs other duties as assigned.
- Providing recommendations and reports based on inspection findings. These reports may include cost estimates for necessary repairs or improvements, timelines for completing maintenance tasks, and prioritization of projects.
- Assisting in the development and management of budgets related to maintenance activities. This includes estimating costs, tracking expenditures, and optimizing resource allocation.
- Ensuring that maintenance activities do not harm the environment and, if necessary, incorporating sustainable and environmentally friendly practices into maintenance projects.
- Participating in the development of long-term maintenance plans and infrastructure asset management strategies to ensure the continued functionality and safety of public facilities.
- Ensuring that all maintenance activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards. This may involve inspecting projects to confirm compliance with zoning codes, building codes, and environmental regulations.
