Job Purpose
Provide day-to-day support in all areas of Environmental, Health & Safety to the facility. Will ensure that all policies and procedures are being followed and maintain high standards of communication and rapport among department staff, Management and hourly associates. Will implement and administer safety and workers’ compensation programs and initiatives. Which includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that safety procedures, rules, and work practices are sound, practical and enforceable. Will also coordinate and conduct safety training according to OSHA and company standards. Will investigate near misses, incidents and injury reports. Evaluate, monitor and maintain environmental aspects of the facility and minimize hazards that may impact the environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include but not limited to the following.
• Ensure the facility complies with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety laws.
• Manage Worker’s Compensation including but not limited to maintaining OSHA 300 log, first report of injury documentation, scheduling doctor’s appointments, and maintaining working relationship with Nurse Case Manager and Worker Compensation Adjuster.
• Attend line meetings to address and prioritize safety issues and concerns.
• Attend Court Settings for Worker’s Compensation cases when applicable.
• Manage Worker’s Compensation Return to Work Program for Plant.
• Maintain First Aid Room.
• Manage Environmental issues and concerns including but not limited to all required reporting.
• Coordinate daily and monthly environmental/safety inspections per federal, state, and local guidelines.
• Facilitate ISO14001 audits.
• Coordinate and facilitate safety training for new hires and annual regulatory training.
• Coordinate and facilitate environmental training for new hires and annual regulatory training.
• Responsible for remaining abreast of new and revised governmental regulations/programs that affect associates and the company.

• Ability to keep sensitive employee information confidential or Work confidential and with discretion
• Effective problem solving, conflict resolution, and collaboration skills
• The ability to grasp and work with complex concepts such as benefit plans and employment analysis.
• Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with people and strong customer service skills
• Strict attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems.
• Should have excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and deal with stressful situations.
• Ability to work with a team and influence others
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, as well as being able to accept work related calls during non-production hours.
