Summer Intern - Defect Characterization

onsemi is seeking an intern in Defect Characterization in Hopewell Junction, NY. The intern will support the development, improvement, and integration of machine‑learning models used to classify wafer defects across optical and SEM inspection platforms. The role focuses on enhancing accuracy while reducing complexity and cost.

Responsibilities: The intern will work closely with Defect Engineering, Integration, and IT teams to deliver measurable improvements across inspection workflows.

Requirements:

• Candidate for Bachelors degree in Engineering or CS
• Experience with AI model development preferred  

onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $25.00 -$42.00 per hour exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
