JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Campus Recreation is looking for an experienced and dynamic person to join our team. Under the supervision and direction of the Assistant Director for Competitive Sports, the Coordinator for Competitive Sports will serve on a team responsible for the daily operation and management of club sports and intramural sports programming.

The Club Sports program promotes student development and participation in a wide variety of sports activities, provides opportunities for student competition at various levels of play, and fosters social connections and well-being. Campus Recreation currently has over 50 club sports, with over 2,000 student participants annually.

The Intramural Sports program is comprised of more than 25 sports, with over 7,000 unique participants per year. Activities are held in league, tournament, and individual formats, and participation offerings occur throughout the calendar year.

Specific position responsibilities include:

• Oversee the proper execution of programmatic plans in accordance with Campus Recreation's mission, vision, and values.

• Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate student employees; including supervisors, officials, and program managers.

• Create and present training and leadership development materials for Club Sport officers and Competitive Sports staff.

• Ensure the proper compliance with risk management processes and protocols for Club Sport and Intramural Sport participants. Maintain all risk management records according to department and University policy.

• Review, update, and track all Club Sport records and documents from Club Sport officers, as well as all Intramural Sport records; including sport rules, staff certifications, team accountability documentation, etc.

• Train, guide, and provide leadership opportunities to Club Sport officers on all contents of the Club Sports Officer Manual
