Nemean Solutions, LLC is looking for a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Young Faculty Award (FYA) Program Administration Support Specialist - Army Research Office (ARO)

Background:

Provide support services to ARO in implementing ARO's role in the DARPA YFA program administered by DARPA, and ARO's University Research Initiative (URI) Programs. This includes Multidisciplinary University Research Initiatives (MURI), Defense Instrumentation Research Program (DURIP), Defense Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (DEPSCoR), and Presidential Early Career Award for Science and Engineering (PECASE). This position requires general awareness of DARPA and URI programs and detailed awareness of the basic research programs at ARO. The position also requires a general awareness of the Department of Defense (DoD) and Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) research and technology development process and programs associated with "basic research," as well as a functional knowledge of the nuances of the DoD and Army contracting procedures and process.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Support DARPA's Young Faculty Awards Program Manager in the management and administration of all process required by DARPA within the Army.
  • Army Receive topics for the YFA program from DARPA, with which DARPA is seeking ARO participation.
  • Receives DARPA selected proposals and enters those that Army Contracting Command will execute into the ARO Corporate Information System (CIS).
  • Assigns projects on which ARO will collaborate to ARO program managers based on scientific fit.
  • Monitors ARO program manager engagement on projects, to include tracking and archiving reports and correspondence from the project principal investigators to the DARPA and ARO program managers.
  • Collects and analyzes program data to document scientific accomplishments (e.g., presentations, reports) of principal investigators.
  • Collects and analyzes fiscal data to document DARPA investment relevant to ARO programs.
  • Tracks use of DARPA agent fees associated with the DARPA YFA program.
  • Prepares program reports documenting ARO collaboration with DARPA on the DARPA YFA program as needed to meet Army requirements.
  • Prepares various funding documents in the ARO CIS to assist ARO Program Managers in executing the DARPA YFA program.

Security Requirement:

  • Must be eligible to access classified materials up to the level of SECRET established through completion of a TIER 3 personnel security investigation with results favorably adjudicated by the DoD Consolidated Adjudications Facility.

Education/Experience Requirement:

  • The proposed individual shall possess (at a minimum) a bachelor's degree with at least five (5) years of relevant experience. Significant highly relevant experience can substitute for degree. Expertise in contemporary business computer tools (spreadsheets, databases, word processing, presentations, and graphics) is essential. The Microsoft suite of programs is preferred to ensure ready compatibility with Army systems currently in use. In addition, individuals should have specific knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Access. These skills may have been acquired by the selectee through either on-the-job or formal training. Similarly, strong communication skills are essential, including both written and oral.

Support Hours: Applicant shall be available during core work hours 0900 to 1500 or as established by the RA. The facility is closed during local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government directed facility closings.

Place of Performance: This work will be performed at the Research Triangle Park, NC's Frontier building.

Travel: It is anticipated that while executing the duties of the position, travel may be required to a government facility to obtain items such as a CAC or electronic equipment.
