Position Summary
Responsible for preparation of various managerial financial reports and all related general accounting functions.
Job Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly & annual managerial financial reports/statements. Collects appropriate documentation, prepares supporting worksheets & schedules and coordinates with other accounting staff.
- Assists in preparation of month and year-end schedules and analyses.
- Assists with year end audit processes, including the preparation of appropriate comparative reports and obtaining related fluctuation explanations. Assists in resolution of any internal audit requests.
- Assists in preparation of all adjusting, closing entries and transfers for routine, month and year-end, including all appropriate analyses and documentation.
- Works on variety of Budget to Actual reports and analyzes fluctuations in revenues and expenses; prepares variance analyses for distribution to management.
- Responsible for writing and processing Accounts Payable check requisitions, setting up recurring payments and maintaining all related A/P related reports. Works with outside vendors to resolve any payment issues.
- Responsible for preparation of monthly bank reconciliations and for investigating and reconciling any variances, recording of cash transactions and maintaining all bank reconciliation reports.
- As needed, responsible for preparation a monthly reconciliation of the feeds from the billing system to the accounting system. Responsible for reconciliations of revenue and accounts receivable.
- Responsible for preparation of monthly reconciliations of expenses paid on contracts, the preparation of schedules and analysis related to contracts.
- Coordinates with administrators on departments' financial situation, daily operational issues, healthcare environment, and trends, etc., to fully understand operations and complete necessary analyses for departments in question during course of the year.
- If applicable, reviews annual clinical department budgets. Assists with a variety of special budget, financial, and managerial reporting projects as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Approximately 3 years of experience in an accounting or finance position.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Knowledge of database and spreadsheet programs.
- Fund accounting and healthcare experience
