About the role

WinnCompanies is looking for a Maintenance Technician II to join our team at The Oaks Apartments, a 509-unit multi-family community located in Oakley, CA.
Carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and you! These are some of the most important things we need to maintain our properties and keep our residents happy. In this role, you will perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, residential common areas, office, grounds and parking lots. This position requires a highly diversified base of knowledge and skills needed to maintain the property to satisfy ownership and management objectives.
This opportunity offers a negotiable work schedule with occasional on-call schedule. The pay range for this position is $23.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience. 

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and make repairs in such areas as appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, as well as basic electrical, plumbing, and basic HVAC.
  • Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures
  • Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market-ready status in accordance to company standards.
  • Maintain grounds and curb appeal through landscaping and trash management activities.
  • Complete all resident and site work orders in a timely manner.
  • Perform on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of related apartment maintenance/residential maintenance experience
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, HVAC and/or carpentry
  • Basic familiarity with computers and tablets
  • Availability for rotational on-call during off hours for urgent needs
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to speak and understand basic English
  • Ability to adapt successfully to changing situations and environments
  • A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy
  • Demonstrate good attendance record and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational or technical training
  • CAMT certification
  • Advanced skill in at least 2 trades (electrical, plumbing, appliances, HVAC and carpentry, etc.)
  • Experience with Real Page facilities mobile app
  • EPA Universal
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
