In the Research Intern role, you will serve as a critical contributor to the development and integration of Sartorius’ emerging technologies for characterization of different types of nanoparticles such as lipid nanoparticles, extracellular vesicles and viral vectors. These leading-edge platforms will be utilized in basic research as well as the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
What you will accomplish together with us
- Development & testing of Sartorius’ emerging platforms and processes for nanoparticles (e.g., lipid nanoparticles) analytics.
- Conceive, research & support assay development using orthogonal analytical platforms.
- Work closely with Sartorius product management and development teams to prioritize areas of technology research, expected to extend beyond current product roadmaps.
- Strategic research & development, and transfer in, of analytical technologies for nanoparticles to provide a basis for evolution of current and future Sartorius nanoparticle products.
- Provide support or guidance to technical support team and R&D teams as needed for transfer of technologies developed and/or adopted into the Sartorius product development or OEM organizations.
What will convince us
Education:
- PhD student or graduate in Bioengineering, or closely related discipline with formal education and experience with nanoparticle characterization methods.
Experience:
- Experience & knowledge of state-of the-art nanoparticles analytical technologies such as HPLC, FFF, Raman Spectroscopy and Flow Cytometry and their application for research and development.
- Good knowledge of current developments in nanoparticle technologies.
- Previous hands-on experience with characterization and purification of nanoparticles.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with specialists from target biological application areas and engineering disciplines such as mechanical (hardware, fluidic, thermal), electrical, software, sensor technology (optical, electronical), and chemical.
- Experience working as part of multi-partner R&D projects.

Compensation is up to $30 an hr.
