Position Summary / Career Interest:

As a Manager of Analytics & Business Intelligence, you will harness an array of skills and experiences to align people, process, and technology as a high impact leader for a team of content developers in the healthcare analytics and business intelligence space. We want you to help us improve the quality of care that is delivered to our patients using data solutions, while promoting data literacy levels across the enterprise. You will be leading your team to the successful completion of new data solutions or enhancements to existing analytics capabilities to gain competitive advantage for the organization. You will guide the team in understanding the why behind the strategies and tactics to achieve specific outcomes and not just the tools and processes used to achieve them. You will also manage the administrative activities that come with having direct reports, such as time off, skills development, performance management, and staff augmentation.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Lead a team of content developers and manage dependencies across teams to ensure alignment, as well as adjusting team direction when gaps exist.
  • Manage staff relations including recruitment, retention, performance management, staff satisfaction, conflict management, and individual professional development.
  • Assist with development of specific departmental strategies, goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the department and organization.
  • Lead technical execution of the strategy for implementation and maintenance of comprehensive business intelligence solutions assuring system quality, integrity, and performance efficiency for EMR and non-EMR environments.
  • Advise and provide guidance on data warehousing efforts and support data governance by participating in necessary activities and assisting in the development of and adherence to database and development standards.
  • Provide guidance regarding the use of data warehouse systems, capability of systems to deliver information, and subject matter expertise regarding current systems and emerging technology that promote self-service analytics.
  • Participate in development of support solutions in the following areas: data analysis and reporting; troubleshoot data conversion, integration, and loading processes; query and reporting functions; data management and data support; and support the data quality processes for EMR and non-EMR environments.
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of documents related to process, procedures, standards, and best practices that promote operational and financial sustainability.
  • Oversee various phases of development, deployment, and integration of predictive models and artificial intelligence into clinical and operational processes and monitor their performance.
  • Collaborate and manage relations with various teams (Cyber Security, HITS, Informatics, etc.) within the health system that support content development efforts.
  • Collaborate and manage relations with decentralized reporting and analytical teams (Finance, Perioperative, Strategy, etc.) within the health system that develop and deliver content to customers.
  • Act as a technical liaison between the health system and external vendors to help manage projects and relationships overall (EPIC, Health Catalyst, Press Ganey, Vizient, etc.).
  • Consult with clinical and administrative customers to create knowledge and information through analytical solutions to help solve business problems using information design principles and human centered design.
  • Stay up to date on current analytical and business intelligence industry trends, identify “best practices”, analyze organizational opportunity and risk mitigation requirements, and advise leadership accordingly.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
  • Data Science
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • Master's Degree in Applied Analytics, Health Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative field
  • EDW Development & Analytics Engineering
  • Bachelors Degree Computer Science, Information Systems Science, Engineering, or related field
