PayPal, Inc. seeks Manager, Software Development 1 in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Responsible for managing a team of Full-Stack engineers to develop and deliver robust scalable platform that powers PayPal’s merchant web experience. Work closely with product, design, and analytics teams to understand how value can be delivered to the merchants using our software. To provide leadership for engineering teams in all phases of the development lifecycle, managing deliverables, and collaborating across functions. Constantly improve the team’s productivity, refine agile processes, remove obstacles that slow down or prevent delivery and create methods to increase efficiency. Contribute to the effort of recruiting new outstanding engineers. Train new software engineers on our best practices, standards, culture, and policies. Perform personnel management tasks, including performance reviews, mentoring, and planning each direct reports’ career growth. Actively participate in system architecture discussions and technical design reviews to ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of the systems. Conduct code reviews. Work with cross functional teams across the Organization to deliver projects, while also being deeply aware of technical nuances of libraries and architecture. Develop trusted partnerships with developers, partners, and architecture leaders to drive optimized platform product delivery. Telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Additional Job Description:

Base salary: $211,666-259,600 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
