Cabot Corporation is an international company headquartered in Boston, USA. In the Netherlands, Cabot has one location in Botlek with two entities: Cabot B.V. (Botlek Rotterdam) and Cabot Performance Netherlands B.V. Cabot B.V. is a manufacturer of high-quality Carbon Black for the energy materials, rubber, plastics, and color/toner industries. As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for coordinating the activities in the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting (month-end closing), preparation of statutory filings & tax returns, compliance with accounting standards and effective cost management. This role involves close collaboration with various departments across Cabot and the Shared Service Center.

 

How You Will Make an Impact

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with GAAP & company policies.• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitor financial performance• Inventory accounting, conduct periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.• Maintain an effective internal controls environment (SoX) to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.• Coordinate external/internal audits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operations.

What You Will Bring to Cabot

• Degree in Finance or Accounting. • 3-5+ years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.• Knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and manufacturing processes is a plus• Strong communication and analytical skills with attention to detail• Proficiency in ERP systems and good Excel skills• Critical thinking and willingness to take initiatives with continuous improvement mindset• Knowledge of English and Dutch languages
