Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months of relevant experience.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:As a Senior Systems Engineer for Fleet Ballistic Missile Auxiliary and Training Systems, you'll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing simulation and training systems that support the Fleet Ballistic Missile program.Our team supports the tactical development and operation of Fire Control capabilities for the Ohio-class fleet and future Columbia-class submarines. We build systems that help engineering teams test Fire Control in lab environments and help prepare the fleet to operate new Fire Control capabilities before they are used aboard a submarine.For Ohio-class systems, this includes capabilities such as the Weapon System Simulator and Training Stimulation System. For Columbia-class submarines, these capabilities come together in the Strategic Weapon Interface Simulator, which supports both system testing and fleet training.In this role, you will contribute to systems engineering activities across the development life cycle, including requirements analysis, requirements management, functional and performance analysis, system design, trade studies, interface definition, integration, verification, troubleshooting, test execution, and technical documentation. You will work hands-on with systems in lab environments and collaborate across multiple technical disciplines to support mission-critical test and training capabilities.You will also help plan technical subtasks, develop and review engineering work products, evaluate design alternatives, research system components and technical documentation, and identify, analyze, and resolve system design issues.
