Business Office Lead

Job Summary 

This position is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the assigned business office functions. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ensuring the registration of patients, scheduling of appointments, medical records completion, billing and collecting activities. Also responsibile for overseeing responsibilities of assigned staff. 

Essential Functions

• Leads the work in the business office, including, but not limited to, registration, scheduling, medical records, billing and collecting.
• Responsible for ensuring exemplary customer service and communication in registration and scheduling.
• Initiates and maintains the business office policies and procedures.
• Oversees billing and collecting, insuring timely and accurate charge capture.
• Monitors cash collections and AR days.
• Oversees timely and accurate completion of medical records.
• Oversees insurance verification.
• Oversees the calculation, patient communication and collection of up-front patient collections.
• Ensures compliance with federal and state laws and policies and procedures as related to the business office.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years in a business office supervisory role within healthcare facility or ASC required
• 1-3 years experience working with patient financial systems, specifically ASC patient financial systems (e.g., Amkai, HST, Vision, AdvantX) required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must have the ability to guide and mentor staff and have the ability to communicate (orally and in writing) effectively with patients, doctors and other colleagues.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient at working with computers including Google Sheets and Docs.
