As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing resident rooms, common areas, and public spaces, following strict safety and hygiene protocols. Your duties may include janitorial tasks, hospital or clinic cleaning, and general facility maintenance, all while upholding high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Public and Common Areas

  • Clean and maintain lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors throughout the day.
  • Ensure handrails are clean and free of debris.

Resident Rooms and Bathrooms

  • Keep rooms and bathrooms clean and tidy.
  • Remove dust, dirt, food, or debris from walls, mirrors, windows, and light fixtures.

General Cleaning Tasks

  • Empty trash cans and replace liners.
  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Clean towel bars, towel dispensers, and other fixtures.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a clean, safe, and organized manner.

Safety and Reporting

  • Use caution signage and ensure chemicals/supplies are out of residents’ reach.
  • Report safety issues or concerns to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately.
  • Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishing.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Experience in a long-term care facility.

Skills

  • Excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
  • Strong time management and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
