Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor

Description

 The University of Tennessee, College of Social Work invites applications for one (1) 12-month, non-tenure-track Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor position in advanced clinical practice. The salary range is $56,000-$65,000 (assistant) /$68,000-$76,000 (associate) dependent upon qualifications. The position will be located at the College of Social Work Nashville Campus.

The position has primary responsibilities for face-to-face and online instruction in the MSSW program. The role requires effective communication of knowledge and information to students while promoting skill acquisition and development of critical thinking.  Clinical professors must model ethical behavior and be able to objectively evaluate student performance and competencies.  As a member of the College of Social Work faculty, the position contributes to various college and university committees and service. 

 

This position is supervised by the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and works collaboratively with the academic program directors.

Qualifications

Qualifications 

 

Minimum qualifications for assistant clinical professor 

1. MSW/MSSW from a CSWE-accredited social work program 

1. Experience teaching, training, or mentoring students  

1. Expertise in advanced clinical practice 

1. Two years post-master’s social work practice experience by May 2025 

1. Strong identification with the mission and core values of social work 

1. Evidence of commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive climate in classroom or practice settings, in alignment with CSWE accreditation standards 

 

 

Preferred qualifications for assistant clinical professor: 

1.     Graduate teaching experience 

1.     Teaching experience in both face-to-face and online formats 

1.     Five years post-master’s practice experience 

1.     A doctoral degree in Social Work or closely related field 

 

Minimum qualifications for associate clinical professor, include those for assistant professor plus: 

1. Doctoral or terminal degree in Social Work or a closely related field. 

1. Current licensure or certification to practice social work (if applicable). 

1. At least 5 years of teaching experience in a CSWE-accredited M
