What’s the role?

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer I to address practical problems in a sophisticated, collaborative engineering environment.

As a member of the Offsite Ads team in the Marketing Technology group, you will be part of a team responsible for building and maintaining a diverse collection of solutions that empower our partners in Marketing, external publishing partners, as well as Etsy's vast community of sellers. You will collaborate closely with peers as well as partners in Marketing and Product to craft appropriately sized improvements, bug fixes and new features. You will work closely with your team to deliver results within estimated timelines, improve internal processes and help cultivate an inclusive and psychologically safe environment. This is a full-time position reporting to the Engineering Manager and the base salary range will be 152,000 -
178,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual
performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total
rewards package at Etsy. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States who are either

What’s this team like at Etsy?

• The Offsite Ads team at Etsy builds and maintains the infrastructure supporting Etsy's Offsite Ads program, a highly impactful growth channel for our sellers and Etsy.
• Due to our domain expertise in attribution, we are also responsible for building and/or contributing to a variety of other products related to growing Etsy's marketplace through new marketing channels.
• We touch all parts of the Etsy web stack (PHP, MySQL and JavaScript) as well as Etsy services using Apache Kafka (Java, GKE). You'll need to be able to switch between thinking about highly scalable event-driven architecture and reliable and adaptable user experiences built using standard methodologies including accessibility and localization.

What does the day-to-day look like?

• You will collaborate with other engineers within your team and across Etsy to make effective use of our infrastructure and platforms.
• You will build and maintain code responsible for the operation of critical systems that process hundreds of millions of clicks per month.
• You will participate in team agile ceremonies, both as a contributor and facilitator.
• You will take the lead on directing and implementing solutions to moderately complex, loosely scoped problems that are aligned with your team's goals.
• You will enable other engineers to be successful.
