Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field.  We are actively looking for a Project Manager with maritime, transportation, and/or water resources project experience for our West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, or Miami office. This role will plan, oversee, and market projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage projects in construction, and upkeep
  • Coordinate resources to efficiently manage budget and scope
  • Oversee compliance with specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages
  • Leverage working relationships and contacts with client technical staff and project managers within local governments and private clients 
  • Ensure project deliverables maintain project schedule
  • Review and approve all deliverables prior to submission to client; review & resolve client’s comments as they relate to scope of work and services
  • Develop / distribute standards and templates to project team for consistent work products
  • Quality control / check data, tables and formats for accuracy

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field; required
  • 20+ years of experience in project construction management related to government works, maritime, transportation, and/or water resources projects in southern Florida; required
  • Inspection experience with FDOT and/or FDEP projects; desired
  • Comfort working independently
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) 
  • Availability and willingness to travel on occasion
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions: 

Working conditions are in the professional services industry office environment typically among colleagues and teammates. Field engineering conditions are located at construction sites and may on occasion be necessary.

 

Physical requirements: 

The majority of work is both field and office based. Some site visits will be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
