About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Educator holding the renal portfolio provides contemporary clinical leadership and educational expertise to support the delivery of safe, high-quality and evidence-based nursing care. Working within a practice development framework, the role is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of education programs that strengthen clinical capability, support professional growth and promote excellence in nursing practice.

Partnering closely with nursing leadership teams, frontline clinicians and multidisciplinary stakeholders, the Clinical Nurse Educator working with the renal portfolio plays a key role in fostering a culture of lifelong learning, clinical excellence and continuous improvement, ensuring education initiatives are responsive to workforce needs and enhance patient outcomes

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of nursing education and professional development programs across a range of clinical practice settings.
  • Facilitate learning opportunities that strengthen clinical reasoning, critical thinking, clinical judgement and evidence-based practice. 
  • Provide clinical leadership, coaching and mentorship to nurses, preceptors and emerging clinical leaders. 
  • Support nursing workforce development through induction, clinical supervision, preceptorship and continuing professional development initiatives. 
  • Contribute to quality improvement, research and practice development activities that promote safe, person-centred care and positive patient outcomes. 

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled Registered Nurse with demonstrated experience in clinical education and a passion for developing nursing capability. They will possess strong clinical credibility, a commitment to evidence-based practice and the ability to influence and support nursing staff to achieve excellence in patient care.

To be successful applicants will demonstrate:

  • Advanced clinical nursing knowledge and the ability to translate evidence into practice to enhance patient care outcomes.
  • Experience developing, facilitating and evaluating contemporary education and professional development programs within a healthcare setting.
  • Highly developed communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage, mentor and influence clinicians across all levels of practice.

Details of appointment

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 48 hours per fortnight, ASAP until 9 January 2027.

Salary

$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
