About the Division of Policy and Public Affairs:
The DCR’s Division of Policy and Public Affairs helps bring the agency and our mission to life through the Legislative Affairs, Visitor Services and Engagement, Special Events, and Community Relations teams. This dynamic team helps shape policy by working closely with Legislators as well as conduct public meetings, engage with constituents, and work with partners on world class events such as Boston’s July 4th Celebration and the Head of the Charles Regatta.
This role is critical in managing and enhancing the Department's relationships with key external stakeholders, including other Commonwealth Executive Branch agencies, government officials, advocacy groups, and the public, as well as overseeing policy development and implementation. The Director will work closely with the Ombudsperson, Deputy Commissioner of Policy and Public Affairs and the senior leadership team to advance the Department's mission and strategic goals through effective communication, partnerships, advocacy, and policy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Policy Development and Implementation: Lead the formulation and execution of policy initiatives, in partnership with the DCR Senior Director of Strategic Readiness Initiatives, that align with the Department's strategic goals. Collaborate with internal teams to research, analyze, and advocate for internal and public-facing policies that support DCR's mission.
