A Medical Specialist/Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) at CTEH, LLC participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary team by providing nursing services and occupational health support in the areas of occupational health and safety, compliance, toxic tort litigation support, and emergency response. In performing such duties, a Medical Specialist/OHN will be prepared to provide high quality professional clinical/medical services to both CTEH employees and external clients in routine situations and during emergency situations. Utilizing their knowledge of various medical disciplines, the Medical Specialist/OHN may study, report, and act based on data derived from measurements or observations and will apply medical methodology for analysis of various factors related to occupational health and general health. The Medical Specialist/OHN is primarily responsible for performing work assigned by a Senior Medical Specialist or the Director, Occupational Health. This position requires availability for travel with reasonable notice and may support emergency response, safety, and/or industrial hygiene projects.

ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE
Provides professional clinical/medical services in support of CTEH Health Sciences and Emergency Response Divisions’ needs in the areas of occupational health, toxic tort litigation support, compliance, industrial hygiene/safety, and emergency response;
Conducts occupational health exams and related clinical duties as needed;
Accurately reviews, abstracts, and/or summarizes medical records;
Assists in managing occupational health project database(s) and electronic medical record systems;
Works as rotating nurse on call;
Communicates directly with CTEH clients and client representatives;
Acts as a supporting member of an emergency response team and the safety and industrial hygiene programs;
Compiles, reviews, and summarizes scientific/technical data and literature; and,
Performs such other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Nursing degree with current, good standing registered nursing license
2-3+ years of nursing experience with experience in Health Law, Occupational Health, or Legal Nursing
Electronic record-keeping experience preferred
Advance computer skills in a Windows-based computer platform (required)
CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER SKILLS
NIOSH Approved Respiratory Technician certification (preferred)
COHN certification preferred
Completion of all job specific OSHA training
Ability to comply with all job specific OSHA requirements
Current driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport

Ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or a paper copy
Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Occasional, unscheduled travel for extended periods of time
Ability to drive noncommercial vehicles
May occasionally work shifts of up to 24 hours in duration
May dress out in physically demanding personal protective equipment (PPE) for site entry at HAZWOPER sites as required under 29CFR 1910.120 as a member of an emergency response team
May wear half-face and full-face air purifying respirator
