Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
The Sr. Manager, Program Management, structures and organizes a diverse set of activities for product development. They orchestrate the activities of the product development to deliver compelling final product designs within challenging product release schedules. You must be highly organized and detail-oriented, and interact fluidly and effectively with numerous individuals and departments. The Sr. Manager will have a close working relationship with the Engineering, Technical Publications, Training, and Marketing departments, as well as other program and project managers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Hire and develop a small team of highly capable, professional project managers and coordinators to meet the needs of the Product Product development.
- Organize and prioritize the work of the team to accomplish the priorities outlined below:
- Act as player-coach for staff.
- Develop their capabilities and provide professional development path.
- Periodically assess staff performance and provide feedback, both formal and informal.
- Manage the activities and deliverables of the design team, for all of the various projects the product development serves.
- Help the functional managers of the product development plan and execute all of the activities required to achieve project goals.
- Facilitate resource planning, load equality, and priority setting by functional managers by providing clear, concise, actionable data.
- Coordinate effectively with a number of other project managers who are driving overall product development programs, to know about project goals, scope, and timelines, and help functional managers negotiate resources and schedules.
- Drive user-interface development project teams for larger projects.
- Develop detailed project plans for a cross-functional team focused on all the user-interface elements of those programs.
- Conduct weekly team meetings of project team.
- Responsible for establishing the meeting agenda, conducting the meeting, publishing meeting minutes, and tracking follow up activities.
- Work with engineering documentation specialists to plan and track the creation of the design history documents for which the product development is liable (e.g. user interface requirements).

- Develop new and improved work processes for the design team.
- Explore, promote, and build new processes that make the product development and other departments they interact with more effective and efficient, and result in better products faster.
- Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- BS degree required (or equivalent experience). Advanced degree a plus.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in medical product development.
- Must be a highly passionate person who cares deeply about delivering improved surgical solutions to patients, and has a proven ability to coordinate the eff
