Senior Systems Engineering Leader

KBR is seeking an experienced Systems Engineering Professional to provide technical leadership and promote the growth a portfolio of remote sensing research and development projects.

KBR's Advanced ISR Special Programs team in Ann Arbor conducts sponsored Research and Development to improve our nation’s capability to execute Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. We address difficult technical problems, as posed by increasingly complex operating environments, and develop solutions that enable our customers’ success and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Principal Investigator on one or more R&D projects in the remote sensing domain, in support of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
• Organize, and lead teams of diverse backgrounds and technical skills, fostering collaboration among systems engineers, software developers, and hardware designers.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and drive the conception, development, and implementation of technical solutions to fulfill project objectives.
• Develop customer relationships and engage to understand emergent technical problems of importance.

Required Qualifications:

• Academic degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science, with accompanying years of relevant experience as indicated:
• Bachelor's + 15 years
• Master's + 10 years
• Ph.D. + 7 years
• Demonstrated background and relevant experience in the development of remote sensing technologies (systems, software)
• Demonstrable successful performance in technical leadership role(s)
• Participation in R&D business capture through solution development, customer engagement, and proposal content preparation
• Proficiency in MATLAB
• Excellence in oral and written technical communication.
• Must have an Active Top Secret Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Record of published research of relevance, in peer-reviewed journals
• Record of published presentations of relevance in conference proceedings
• Proficiency in C++ or Python programming languages
• Success as Principal Investigator and/or Project Manager on relevant R&D contracts for U.S. Government customer(s) in prime or subcontract role
• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) training and certification
• Active SCI access
