Job Description Summary
Taylor Morrison is seeking a highly respected and experienced professional to lead Multi-Family Constructability and Forensics on a national scale. The National Director of Multi-Family Constructability is responsible for mitigating construction defect risk and providing technical leadership throughout the lifecycle of multi-family projects. This position will lead constructability oversight, forensic review, and field-based quality assurance to ensure projects meet the highest standards of performance, compliance, and durability.The National Director will serve as a subject-matter expert in constructability, design review, and field execution. This role serves as a strategic partner across divisions, collaborating with architects, engineers, legal teams, and project leaders to proactively identify issues, solve complex problems, and enhance execution on active and upcoming Multi-Family projects.
This is a remote role based out of California. Ideal candidate will reside in Orange County or Bay Area, near division offices.

Key Responsibilities
Constructability & Design Oversight
- Lead detailed constructability reviews for all MF projects, ensuring design documents are coordinated, executable, and compliant with building codes and quality standards during design, engineering, and planning phases to proactively identify potential issues and mitigate risks.
- Identify risks early in design and construction documents, providing actionable recommendations to project teams to improve execution, efficiency, and compliance.
- Serve as a technical advisor to project teams, ensuring designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with industry best practices.
- Partner with architecture and engineering teams to address design gaps, conflicts, and sequencing challenges.
Forensic Analysis & Risk Mitigation
- Conduct forensic evaluations of MF construction to identify root causes of failures, potential defect exposures, and long-term performance risks.
- Utilize forensic findings and provide guidance to develop standards, best practices, and corrective action recommendations.
- Collaborate with legal, risk management, and internal teams to support early detection and resolution of construction issues.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert supporting litigation prevention through early intervention and improved execution.
Field Oversight & Quality Assurance
- Perform on-site inspections to ensure adherence to construction plans, specifications, quality standards and industry best practices.
- Identify and resolve constructability challenges in the field before they escalate into costly problems.
- Support divisions with on-site troubleshooting, quality reviews, and solutions to complex construction issues.
- Implement systems for continuous improvement, documenting outcomes, lessons learned, and best practices for national application.
- Engage with third-party consultants and inspection teams to ensure cohesive oversight.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as a national expert and point of contact for constructability and forensics, providing guidance to division leaders and project teams.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, legal, division leadership, project management, and external consultants to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to internal teams, fostering knowledge sharing and consistency across project teams nationwide.
- Drive alignment across departments to ensure consistency in constructability standards and forensic application.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Multi-Family Construction design (preferred if in an architectural or engineering capacity), field execution, or forensic review, managing or collaborating with architects, engineers, legal, and field teams on national projects.
- Proven expertise in construction defect analysis, risk mitigation, and constructability assessment.
- Strong background in field construction, constructability, and execution practices.
- Hands-on experience in multi-family project lifecycle, including feasibility, design, engineering, construction, and turnover.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex construction and technical problems in both design and field conditions across multiple disciplines and teams.
- 10+ years of experience in Multi-Family forensics, including defect investigation, expert reviews, testimony, or third-party inspections.
