Junior Estimator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an individual that is eager to learn about the heavy highway construction industry. As an Associate Estimator, you will work closely with Estimating Leads to prepare bids, review contracts, and manage projects from planning and budgeting to execution and quality control.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

·         Assist in preparing bidding strategies, cost estimates, and contract reviews.

·         Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

·         Prepare estimates for various subcontractors.

·         Ensure projects adhere to safety regulations, quality standards, and deadlines.

·         Track historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products.

·         Work with clients, vendors, personnel and construction foremen to align project goals and resolve issues.

·         Planning, scheduling and coordinating project activities to meet deadlines.

·         Produce and distribute project documents to the operations team.

·         Utilize cost estimation tools, HCSS and Microsoft Excel.

Skills and Qualifications:

·       2+ years of experience in cost estimation, preferred.

·       Heavy highway contractor is a plus

·       Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

·       Proficiency in construction estimating software, Microsoft Office and other relevant tools

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·       Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in estimating tasks

·       Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
