 Jaguar Land Rover North America’s internship program is a great opportunity for college students entering their junior or senior year, or who are currently in a graduate school program, to gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of the automotive industry!  This is a great opportunity for personal growth and development from a business and learning perspective.

 

In this internship, you will take part in one of JLR’s newest and innovative technical departments – Semiconductor Engineering. As an intern on the Semiconductor Modeling team, you will support key projects and initiatives such as creating semiconductor virtual prototypes, developing benchmarks, evaluating advanced technologies. By the end of the internship, the candidate will have direct experience in various virtual modeling platforms, hardware/sw design optimization and evaluation.

 

 Details of the program:

  • The program is open to students at a Junior or Senior level in their Bachelor’s Degree program or a Graduate Program
  • The Internship runs from June 16, 2025 to May 22, 2026
  • 25-29 hours per week during business hours (Business Hours: Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:00pm)
  • Hybrid Schedule available
  • Paid internship - $18/hour

  

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Executing critical workloads for CPU, GPU, NPU, memory and other subsystems to perform integration, performance and power consumption tradeoffs.
  • Tracing hardware metrics data on virtual models and embedded platforms to create performance/behavior models.
  • Configuring and bring up complex software stacks and drivers on virtual models.
  • Supporting teams with software bring up, identify issues, implement and deliver solutions.
  • Developing representative benchmarks for critical workloads and capture key workloads for simulation on performance models.
  • Documenting results, lessons learned and identify areas of improvement and opportunities of growth
  • Participate in technical reviews and semiconductor supplier discussions.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • The successful candidate must be currently enrolled in an engineering collegiate academic program for 2025/26 (either a junior, senior, or graduate student)
  • Strong understanding of Engineering disciplines  
  • Must have basic understanding of semiconductor fundamentals (transistors, diodes, microcontrollers, power electronics, etc).
  • Experienced in programming in one or more of C, C++, System C, Python, Verilog, VHDL etc.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Natural problem solver and ability to derive solutions to technical issues.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical, Dedicated, Self-Motivated, Curious, Team-player, Driven
  • Preferred – Familiarity with embedded systems and SW, ECU functionality, automotive standards, and/or software defined vehicle architectures is a plus
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States at time of application
