The Manager of Land Acquisition will be responsible for identifying, researching investigating, qualifying, and managing the purchasing of land to meet business plan targets consistent with strategic plan and site selection criteria while representing and enhancing stakeholder relationships.
Position Responsibilities
- Executes on land acquisition goals, objectives and strategies
- Manage team members and align projects with applicable internal and external customers
- Oversee preparation of information, financial analysis, risk mitigation measures, negotiations, and purchase agreements for fee simple transactions, easements, temporary construction easements, rights of entry and property swaps.
- Prepare and negotiate letters of intent, agreements, and other related legal documents per company policy and procedures.
- Lead land acquisition contract process and monitor contract compliance with internal and outside counsel.
- Work with service partners and oversee the daily management of Corporate Real Estate land acquisition including appraisals, negotiations, survey, title review, environmental review, utility coordination and relocation.
- Build strong relationships with internal departments such as Engineering (Facilities, Structures, Signals, Line Expansion), Environmental, Economic Development, Finance, Tax and the various Business Units
- Continually search for current and future land purchase deals using a variety of methods, including digitized software, service partners and networking with trusted relationships of a network of industry contacts including brokers, developers and landowners.
- Grow land pipeline necessary to meet strategic goals
