About the role
The Swift Group is looking for a Windows System Engineer to join an exciting mission oriented program. The role is located on onsite in Herndon, VA and requires a TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 troubleshooting skills to resolve server and network issues.
- Manage and maintain Server OS versions including 2008R2, 2012R2, 2016, and 2019.
- Implement and optimize Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP services.
- Demonstrate expertise in cloud technologies and their integration with Windows environments.
- Utilize Microsoft SCCM/WSUS for software updates and patch management.
- Maintain and deploy system images and configurations.
- Develop and implement automation scripts using PowerShell, VB, or C#.
- Prioritize and execute tasks effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Adapt to and learn new technologies to support evolving IT infrastructure.
- Write technical standards documentation and diagrams for enterprise-level systems.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in Windows server administration or engineering.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 issues in a Windows environment.
- Expert knowledge of Server OS versions (2008R2, 2012R2, 2016, 2019) and associated services.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with cloud technologies and their integration with Windows systems.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SCCM/WSUS for software deployment and patch management.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, VB, or C# for automation and system management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services.
- Advanced skills in PowerShell scripting.
- Understanding of enterprise networking best practices.
