The Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse, inventory, shipping, receiving, and logistics operations within a manufacturing facility. This position ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting production requirements. The supervisor provides leadership to both union and non-union employees, ensuring compliance with company policies, collective bargaining agreements, safety regulations, and operational standards.
Main tasks / Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise daily warehouse, shipping, receiving, and logistics operations to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted support of manufacturing and customer delivery requirements.
- Manage and develop both union and non-union employees, including scheduling, training, coaching, performance management, attendance, and disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies and collective bargaining agreements.
- Ensure timely receipt, storage, movement, and distribution of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods to support production and customer demands.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, transaction audits, and corrective actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation activities, including carrier management, freight scheduling, and on-time shipment performance.
- Drive compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, material handling procedures, and environmental requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.
- Monitor warehouse productivity, labor utilization, and operational performance metrics, implementing actions to improve efficiency and service levels.
- Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Planning, Procurement, Quality, and Customer Service teams to ensure effective material flow and issue resolution.
- Support labor relations activities, including grievance administration, contract interpretation, investigations, and partnership with Human Resources and Labor Relations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and best practices to optimize warehouse operations, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

- Warehouse & Logistics Operations Expertise – Strong knowledge of inventory control, shipping, receiving, material handling, transportation coordination, and warehouse management best practices within a manufacturing environment.
- Labor Relations & Employee Relations – Demonstrated ability to administer collective bargaining agreement provisions, manage grievances, resolve workplace conflicts, and maintain positive labor-management relationships.
- Safety, Compliance & Risk Management – Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment through regulatory compliance, safety leadership, incident prevention, and adherence to operational standards.
- Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving – Ability to analyze operational data, identify root causes, implement process improvements, and drive productivity, quality, and cost-saving initiatives using Lean principles and best practices.
Qualifications, skills & expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of warehouse, logistics, distribution, or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
