Summary

Temple, TX - The Senior Coordinator of Business Operations is responsible for providing guidance or referring faculty, staff and/or students to the Human Resources department. Where applicable, triage requests and direct faculty, staff, and students to the appropriate service provider. They will be responsible for all HR related transactions and support, outside of employee relations. They will also be responsible for supporting financial and business operations for BCM to all personnel on the Temple campus. Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

This position will work in Temple, Texas with some occasional travel to Houston, Texas.  This position is eligible to work a hybrid arrangement after an orientation and training period.
 

 

Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) School of Medicine (SOM) develops diverse, compassionate physician leaders and educators who provide expert patient-centered care to diverse populations, supported by evidence-based practice and scientific innovation.  The SOM offers programs that cover the learning continuum from Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), Graduate Medical Education (GME) to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).  In addition, SOM also offers MD/PhD and Baccalaureate/MD programs. 

 

Baylor's UME program has an accelerated, integrated approach to teaching the core scientific concepts that underlie medicine, and our exceptionally diverse clinical training opportunities combine to create a curriculum that prepares our students for success.  Commencing with AY2023-2024, the UME program will expand to Temple, Texas (BCM Temple), in partnership with Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH).  Baylor Scott & White Health is prepared to support the program with its expansive clinical enterprise with a focus on value-based care that features a 640-bed teaching and research hospital with a Level I trauma center.  As a part of a large multi-specialty integrated physician group located in central Texas, students at BCM Temple are able to serve a diverse population and be exposed to the full spectrum of medical care. The campus also has established GME programs which have been training residents and fellows for over 100 years.  There are more than 40 residency and fellowship programs, accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education, training nearly 500 active GME residents and fellows.

Job Duties

•    Creates and administers the onboarding process for new faculty and staff at the Temple location.
•    Prepares and assists in the dissemination of Human Resource information to faculty and staff.  Ensures that managers and employees are aware of critical Human Resource deadlines.
•    Understands and appropriately implements and communicates the various policies and procedures for staff. This requires direct engagement with BCM’s Human Resources Department.
•    Responsible for all related tasks and transactions for BCMT faculty and staff recruiting and onboarding process. 
•    Uses Success Factors to process personnel decisions and actions, including promotions, salary actions, performance management, training, and terminations. 
•    Provides support to BCMT faculty and staff in interview, selection, and evaluation processes.
•    Ensures appropriate record confidentiality is maintained in compliance with BCM policies, and state and federal regulations.
•    Ensures staff and faculty complete required annual performance evaluations, and instituted training including; compliance, HIPAA, and information systems security requirements.
•    In partnership with the Human Resources department and Director of Operations, provides information to faculty, staff and students regarding disability services, grievances, Title IX, counseling services, etc., as needed.
•    Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention. 
•    Creates and maintains appropriate tracking mechanisms for HR and operational data.
•    Schedules operational meetings in coordination with other administrative professionals.
•    Serves as the point person for questions related to BCM processes for purchasing and travel using Concur, SuccessFactors, and any other mediums.
•    Trains new staff on BCM finance, travel and purchasing systems
•    Responsible for purchasing, travel and business support as needed
•    Develops collaborative working relationships with Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH) departments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or related field.
•    Four years
