About the role

Analytica is seeking a remote Senior Data Scientist to support data and analytics project for a federal government client. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with clients in both a consulting and delivery capacity to tackle complex, enterprise cloud or on-premise software and technology projects.   Analytica is looking for bright, motivated professionals looking to continue their career in the data analytics field.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to): 

  • Provide statistical analysis and model development using programming languages. 
  • Develop analytics solutions that are scalable, repeatable, effective, and meet the expectations of the decision-makers and stakeholders 
  • Perform data analysis, research and data manipulation tasks
  • Perform queries and interpret business data requests to create efficient queries
  • Directly support users by developing advanced reporting and analytics. 
  • Work with project stakeholders and the software development team to develop data analysis 
  • Assisting users in choosing data sources and discovering new methods for achieving goals. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or any other quantitative field.  Master's in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • 8 years’ experience in healthcare data analytics; preferably within Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services 
  • Understanding of Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Chronic Conditions Warehouse 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, leveraging domain knowledge, information technology, and data science techniques
  • High degree of experience utilizing Python, R, SQL or SAS to support the development of complex advanced analytics use cases
  • Ability to providing complex data analysis, evaluation and communication to identify and analyze complex healthcare data as required
  • Ability to implement large-scale data ecosystems including data management, governance and the integration of structured and unstructured data to generate insights leveraging cloud-based platforms
  • Ability to extract data, transform data, manipulate data and perform analysis 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data concepts and experience working with data architects in the design of database schemas. 
  • Strong skills in various data analysis and visualization tools including SQL Server, Tableau, Power BI and PowerPoint  
  • Experienced in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP) are a plus 
  • Perform queries and interpret business data requests to create efficient queries 
  • Directly support users by developing advanced reporting and analytics. 
  • Work with project stakeholders and the software development team to develop data analysis 
  • Assisting users in choosing data sources and discovering new methods for achieving goals. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain secure a US Federal security clearance
