Job summary
As a Credit Risk Service Manager on the Custom Underwriting team, you’ll assess, and manage credit and counterparty risks on an industry, client, geographic and transaction basis. Credit risk is the risk of loss arising from the default of a client or counterparty. You’ll be part of the team that identifies, measures, limits, manages, and monitors credit risk across our businesses. Credit exposure arises through underwriting, lending, and trading activities with and for clients and counterparties, as well as from a range of operating services such as cash management and clearing activities.
Job responsibilities
- Manage the start-to-finish credit delivery experience for the Business through partnerships with Credit Operations.
- Manage the team of aligned Underwriters and Analysts, ensuring the highest level of service while adhering to credit quality standards and ensure that the loan portfolio meets or exceeds approved credit quality targets.
- Manage team capacity to meet target metric goals.
- Perform regular quality reviews of the Underwriters analyses.
- Preside over meetings with lending Advisory, Underwriting and Operations to drive monthly prioritization.
- Monitor to ensure Underwriters and their portfolios are meeting targets by management of weekly reports.
- Provide training sessions and team meetings with team to communicate overall objectives.
- Participate in portfolio management and credit administration with the Lending Advisory and Credit Executive.
- Meet the goals of the organization in accordance with corporate and regulatory policies including continuous improvement to a cost-efficient credit delivery method.
- Provide credit guidance in a decisive and prudent manner, including the appropriate credit structure for the Bank and Client
- Act as a credit/process resource and mentor within the credit organization and to the Business; participate with the local leadership for shared Credit Center management.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree required; Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management or STEM related degree
- 7+ years of consumer and commercial bank lending experience.
- Superior leadership, analytical, problem-solving capabilities, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to team with others in a matrix environment.
- Passion for the development of people to increase competitiveness in the industry.
- Provide Proactive approach to providing solutions with flexibility around shifting priorities.
- Implement solutions with a sense of urgency and “get it done” attitude while balancing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to interact and communicate ideas with senior management and sales team
- Possess strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Completion of a major bank credit-training program preferred.
- Candidates with fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, or other languages a plus.
