Overview
This is a provisional appointment.
Responsibilities
- Assists the housing management team in the daily supervision of housing inspectors.
- Assists in the implementation of the State Sanitary Code and City Ordinances.
- Assists and coordinates daily work for Housing Inspectors.
- Schedules and conducts audit inspections and conducts chronic offender hearings.
- Conducts staff training.
- Supports field personnel in the implementation of housing codes and city ordinances.
- Assists in conducting educational seminars for the general public.
- Reviews job performance of field personnel.
- Performs related work as required.
Minimum Entrance Qualifications
- At least three (3) years of experience in inspectional housing procedures or a closely related field is required.
- A degree in social work, public administration, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a City of Boston Constable's License.
- Considerable knowledge of Articles 1, 2, and 11, title 5 of State Sanitary Code.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
- Must have and maintain a current Massachusetts driver's license, and access to a vehicle is required.
- A multi-lingual candidate is preferred but not required.
- CORI check required.
