Position Summary
The CPS Energy Internship Program is designed to meet the industry’s rapidly changing workforce needs by providing San Antonio College students an opportunity to be paired with a mentor to acquire meaningful hands-on experiences that expands their understanding of the industry and exposes them to essential skills they must acquire or develop to succeed. The internship is designed for the intern to learn to perform in a work environment and understand the rationale behind the strategies used. Applicants must reside in the San Antonio Metropolitan area and are currently enrolled in school or recently graduated to qualify.
Enterprise Advanced Analytics is a department under the Digital Transformation created to register and protect enterprise data assets, enable self-service capabilities, develop advanced analytics solutions, and prepare the organization to apply artificial intelligence and other automation and optimization techniques. Interns in our department help us accomplish that mission by analyzing data in our database to create insights, prepare data engineering workflows to combine and enrich data as well as develop machine learning algorithms to predict and / or optimize our operations and customer communication.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Analyze Data in database
- Create insights, prepare data engineering workflows to combine and enrich data.
- Develop machine learning algorithms to predict and / or optimize our operations
- Ability to collaborate across the team with and at various levels within the organization.
- Analyze and process internal and external customer data.
- Respond to time-sensitive requests for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.Must be currently enrolled in a related discipline.A minimum GPA of 2.5.Must currently reside within 120 miles of CPS Energy Headquarters.Demonstrated leadership potential.Self-motivated and results oriented.Exceptional communication skills.Effective networking skills.Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Demonstrate an interest in a career applicable to the utility industry.Participate in full-time employment with CPS Energy.Attend all activities sponsored by CPS Energy during employment.Pass a drug test and background screen prior to employment with CPS Energy.Submit application, resume, transcripts.Preferred Qualifications
