About the role

SUMMARY

The Accounting Services Seasonal Associate supports the activities of the Finance Department under the direction of the Accounting Services Manager.  The Seasonal Associate will assist with the timely, accurate entry of customer payments and vendor invoices, and provide general administrative support to the Accounting Services Team.  The Seasonal Associate will ensure that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with EAA values, policies and procedures. Part-time hours will be available from now until April, while full-time hours will commence from May and continue through August.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Accounts Receivable:

  1. Process revenue transactions following established procedures.
  2. Post cash, checks, electronic deposits, credit card receipts, and other income sources.
  3. Prepare bank deposits
  4. Update customer & member data as needed.

Accounts Payable:

  1. Reconcile vendor statements
  2. Perform entry of new vendors, invoices and credits into accounting software.
  3. Assist with weekly check runs.
  4. Assist with reconciliation of expenses from company P-Card program.

General Support:

  1. Provide professional support to members, customers and partners through phone and electronic communication means.
  2. Provide Finance Department support during EAA AirVenture and related events
  3. Miscellaneous administrative tasks: mail, fax, scan filing
  4. Assist with month-end closing
  5. Embrace and support the EAA mission and perform safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
  6. All other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full-time availability starting no later than May 1 and ending no sooner than August 31.
  • Experience in an office environment, including working in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable
  • Knowledge of accounting practices, techniques and terminology
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform high volume alpha & numeric data entry
  • Customer and service oriented, a team player
  • Excellent communication and organization skills

 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in accounting with focus on data entry
  • Aptify or NetSuite experience a plus

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical office setting. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Preparation for AirVenture or other events may require lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and push and pull motions.
