We are seeking a dedicated and reliable programmer to join our team. The role involves assisting with programming data analysis tools and developing natural language processing, speech emotion recognition, and cognitive games and tools for use in research studies. Additionally, the individual will play a role in maintaining a website hub that facilitates the scheduling of training for research assistants involved in the project. https://sites.utexas.edu/dualproject
Purpose
This position will be provide candidate with experience to communicate in a clear and organized manner, make decisions and solve problems, manipulate information, construct ideas, and achieve strategic goals. This position is expected to continue until 12/31/26 and will work up to 19 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the natural language processing tools, speech emotion recognition, and cognitive games that are used within the research studies.
- Develop and maintain a website that contains data analysis tools for researchers.
- Develop any necessary tools that the professor and research assistants need for the research studies.
- Attend weekly meetings to discuss the development process.
- Attend bi-weekly meetings after each cohort for debriefing and feedback from participants.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
- Completion of Operating Systems.
- Experience with Git and source control management.
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, and React.
- Experience with web applications and sprints.
- Experience with creating Python environments (conda).
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with web development.
- Experience with TypeScript.
- Experience with Firebase and Tabby.
Salary Range
$21.00/hour
