Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Energy to lead the firm’s Energy sector. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director will serve as a key leader and contributor to the growth and evolution of the firm. Importantly, the candidate will motivate, engage, and collaborate with colleagues at all levels, particularly with the Leadership Team, and create and sustain a sense of shared mission, purpose, and accountability. The Director will be an outstanding communicator, facilitator, and relationship builder both inside the firm and with clients and business partners.


The Director will lead the firm’s Energy sector business development and maintain a consistent and profitable pipeline of new clients and projects. The candidate will be highly visible and active in the sector, regularly attend industry events, and provide thought leadership and marketing communications that highlight the firm’s capabilities and offerings. The Director will be involved in setting the firm’s revenue and margin targets for the Energy sector and will be responsible for achieving those targets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the setting and achievement of the company's growth goals, initiatives and strategic objectives.
  • Responsible for the financial success of the group, including meeting annual goals related to revenue, fees commissioned, utilization, and billing multiplier.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Business Development in strategizing approaches to business development and key business development activities.
  • Successfully deliver initiatives outlined in the annual business plan with respect to winning work from existing and targeted new clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, partners and industry stakeholders consistent with our Clientship philosophy.
  • Remain abreast of current market trends and conditions; identify new business opportunities to expand the company's market presence and develop strategies to capture them.
  • Routinely attend industry conferences and professional organization meetings and seek speaking opportunities at such events to promote Fisher as an industry expert.
  • Oversee project budgeting, authorizations, scheduling, tracking, compliance, and QA/ QC towards the goal of total client satisfaction and adherence to company project management processes.
  • Oversee proposal pursuits of the group ensuring that the proposal process is consistently followed.
  • Collaborate effectively across groups for multi-disciplined projects to ensure delivery of total project success.
  • Develop and maintain a stable, motivated group with high morale; mentor staff in developing their professional acumen related to team building, technical competence, critical thinking, and client relations.
  • Regularly participate in conversations with employees to understand career goals, determine career paths, skill set development plans and training/learning opportunities.
  • Effectively manage a team across the geographies in which we have staff.
  • Monitor department staffing levels and take proactive measures to address staffing needs including collaborating with HR to initiate hiring and onboarding processes.
