Job Title: Theatre Teacher

Location: GEO Prep Academy, 3-5

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Theatre Teacher to join our team. As a Part-Time Theatre Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching and inspiring students in the art of theatre, helping them to develop their creativity, confidence, and communication skills.

Responsibilities: 

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet the needs of diverse learners 
• Teach students the fundamentals of theatre, including acting, stagecraft, and production 
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and respect 
• Provide constructive feedback to students on their performances and help them to improve their skills 
• Organize and direct school productions, including casting, rehearsals, and performances 
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate theatre into other subject areas and school events 
• Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in theatre education 
• Maintain student records that measure student progress and achievement on related topics 
• Manage Powerschool grading system to reflect student performance 
• Reporting to work during assigned work times and delivering instruction bell to bell 
• Attend to deadlines, scheduled meetings and professional developments 
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Theatre or related field 
• Teaching certification or license preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching theatre for elementary students
• Strong knowledge of theatre history, theory, and practice
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students
• Passion for teaching and inspiring young people
