Job Title: Theatre Teacher
Job Type: Part-time
Location: GEO Prep Academy, 3-5
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Theatre Teacher to join our team. As a Part-Time Theatre Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching and inspiring students in the art of theatre, helping them to develop their creativity, confidence, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet the needs of diverse learners
- Teach students the fundamentals of theatre, including acting, stagecraft, and production
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and respect
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their performances and help them to improve their skills
- Organize and direct school productions, including casting, rehearsals, and performances
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate theatre into other subject areas and school events
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in theatre education
- Maintain student records that measure student progress and achievement on related topics
- Manage Powerschool grading system to reflect student performance
- Reporting to work during assigned work times and delivering instruction bell to bell
- Attend to deadlines, scheduled meetings and professional developments
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Theatre or related field
- Teaching certification or license preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching theatre for elementary students
- Strong knowledge of theatre history, theory, and practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students
- Passion for teaching and inspiring young people
